The stretching of ligaments in the injured joint is called sprains. Ligaments play an important role in supporting the joints. The wrists, knees and ankles and the knees are the ones that are most vulnerable to sprains.

Strains
Strains

Strains are the resultant of a tendon overstretches. Tendons connect the bones and muscles. Tendon injuries are most common in the leg and the foot causing them to tear, either partially or completely.

Contusions
Contusions

A contusion or a bruise is the resultant of trauma, usually a direct blow to a muscle, tendon or ligament in the body. In a contusion, blood gets accumulated around the injury causing the skins discolor into a bluish or blackish color.

Tendinitis
Tendinitis

When a tendon gets inflamed, the condition is referred to as tendinitis. People who are into sports like baseball, tennis, golf, soccer, basketball etc are known to inflame their shoulders/arms/legs/feet.

Bursitis
Bursitis

Between the bone and tendon or a muscle and tendon, there exists a fluid filled sac called the bursa. If the bursa gets irritated, the condition is called bursitis, and the shoulder, hip, elbow, knee and the ankle are the region where this problem is experienced.
